The Department of Theology aims at leading the students to a profound understanding of human beings and their relationship to God, represented in the system and history of faith in God. Students who seek a B. A. in Theology learn the spirits, religious exercises, and the history of Christianity, and a variety of relevant interdisciplinary subjects. To realize the spirits of the university, those of 'openness, sharing, and service,' the department teaches 'humanization' of society in the Christian mission; encourages living educations through fieldwork, pursues a close 'interrelationship between theoretical and practical dimensions of theological education'; and promotes communal consciousness in which one is able to be aware of one's responsibility as a member of the community, willing to dedicate oneself to the roles given to each. To fulfill the prerequisite of developing such mature people, the department makes continuous efforts in education the students to have new visions and the wisdom demanded for and ideal future.
